About our Church

Church is all about people

People worshipping God – who is love

People loving and caring for the world God has made – through the saving love of Jesus Christ

St. Mildred’s Church expresses this in its mission statement:

Serving the Community in the love of Christ

We believe that everyone has a part to play in this and that it is God’s purpose in our lives. St. Mildred’s has both a Church and Centre which are our principle resources in attaining this goal.

St Mildred’s Church is part of Southwark Diocese – stretching from the River Thames almost to Gatwick, and part of Croydon Central Deanery.
What is a deanery and how does it work?

Our Centre was completed in 2007 and adjoins the Church. It enables us to reach out and support those who are most vulnerable in our neighbourhood to help build up family life by providing groups for all ages, and to offer facilities for private parties and special events.

St. Mildred herself was a nun who lived at Minster near Ramsgate; she was famous for her faithfulness to Jesus Christ and her dedication to her own community. She gives us a good example in fulfilling our mission today;

Serving the community in the love of Christ
