Sunday 10 July was our Patronal Festival and we also celebrated St Mildred’s Church’s 90th Birthday!

Our 10 am service started in the Rose Garden

Roger, our vicar blessed the statue

the congregation placed flowers around the statue of St Mildred in the Rose Garden

a card to represent all the congregation

the service continued in church

Steve, our trainee Lay Reader preached a sermon about Saints

The children (and some of their carers gathered round the altar for the Eucharistic prayer

After the service there was cake!

The cake was cut by two gentr=lemen who are as old as the church ( bot don't look it!)

We enjoyed the cake!

Even the new Bishop of Croydon was in the congregation.
