Black British Classical Foundation (BBCF) will present “Sing Into Spring” an Operatic concert at St. Mildreds Church, 30 Bingham Rd, Croydon CR0 7EB, on Sunday 13th March, at 6 pm.
The event will shine a light on rising stars of opera, who are from the Black and South Asian communities, to inspire others from underserved and underrepresented communities that music of all genres is for all, be it as a performer or audience.
Four young artists, Thando Mjandana and Chuma Sijeqa – both currently at the Royal Opera House – Natasha Agarwal of Opera North and Julia Daramy-Williams of English National Opera will perform operatic Arias, Duets, Quartets and Spirituals. The evening will be completed with African and South Asian songs. Beatrice Nicholas is pianist and musical director.
The concert is free but there will be an opportunity, if you so wish to financially support the charity.
