Southwark Diocese Mothers’ Union is outraged to present an event that should never take place, and which it hopes will never happen again.

Thursday 25 November is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. One in three women worldwide has experienced domestic abuse or sexual violence. Mothers’ Union campaigns throughout the world and in our diocese for an end to gender-based violence. This day begins their 16 Days of Activism, which climaxes on International Human Rights Day.

We are privileged to welcome Mandy Marshall, who is the Director for Gender Justice at the Anglican Communion. She will be our principal speaker, on an evening that will include information, discussion, action and prayer. Also, four of Mothers’ Union’s finest will respond to her talk by explaining what the organisation is doing locally and worldwide. It looks like it is going to be a powerful evening.

May we ask you to do two things:
Firstly, come yourself; Secondly, think of others (men or women) who might like to hear about this work. Send them the flier I have attached. The best way to send it is by email, because that is how they will book their ticket.

The details are that it is on Thursday 25 November from 7.30 – 9.00. It is free, and it takes place on Zoom. To book your place email ministryandtraining@southwark.anglican.org
and ask to attend. You will be sent the Zoom joining instructions on the day before.
