St Mildred's Chrurch Organ, Addiscombe, Croydon, Surrey

Limited Access to the church during weekdays

Work on our new church organ starts on Monday 22 January and the organ builders will be on site continuously until the end of April – initially rebuilding , and later on, tonal finishing which will begin after Easter, (and the voicer will need the church as quiet as possible for this process).

This means there will be no access to the church during weekday working hours until the end of April 2024. This will affect the church only – the Centre and Parish Office will be open as usual. So it will not be open for people to pop in and pray, unfortunately.

Weekday services such as Wednesday 10 o’clock and Friday 10.30am Holy Communion services will be held in the Music Room.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

Our Vision…

‘We seek to be an open and loving church, growing in faith and confidence and joyfully sharing God’s love with all.’

Our Priorities

Tell

To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom by Evangelism, particularly through building relationships with people attending the various activities outside of Sunday worship services. [1 Peter 3:15]

Transform

To transform unjust structures in our churches, community and society.
To challenge violence of every kind and pursue peace and reconciliation.
To speak out on injustice that effects our local community. [Micah 6:8]

Teach

To teach, baptise and nurture (both new & existing believers)
Introduce alternative services/Fresh Expressions (including new forms of worship, offering Worship music/gospel hymns, providing food) aimed at young people and/or those who for various reasons wouldn’t feel able to come on a Sunday morning to a more traditional service. [Matthew 28:19]

Treasure

To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of earth.
Environmental Strategy – this includes looking at ways to reduce our carbon footprint and the possibility of solar panels on the roof. [Genesis 1:31]

Tend

To respond to human need by loving service and care by:
Continued support for our Sunday Drop In for the homeless.
Continuing with the Toddler Group and Community Garden.
Starting a food bank collection at church and centre.
Increasing our Financial Strength through our giving:
Meeting our Parish Support Fund Pledge,
Collecting for Christian Aid and the Children’s Society,
